We offer services for children families, professionals and groups

The Rainbow Practice provides therapeutic services for children, adolescents and their families who are experiencing social, emotional or behavioural difficulties.

Consultation, training and clinical supervision for professionals, parents and carers are provided to support this work. We have specialist expertise in working with children looked after by Local Authorities and adopted children.

Who We Are

Sharon Tilling, senior social worker and psychotherapist, formed The Rainbow Practice Ltd in January 2007 and since then has developed a particular interest in developmental trauma.

Sharon's role has been informed by Attachment and Mental Health research and literature. This has enabled Sharon to develop an increased understanding of the impact of early care on children’s psychological functioning and brain development. She is passionate about supporting children and adults impacted by the trauma of neglect and abuse in addition to those professionals whose role is to work within this area.

Since 2016, Sharon has facilitated training for therapists and counsellors.

Current courses which are accredited by PTUK include:

Therapeutic Life Story training.

Working Therapeutically with Nesting Dolls.

Sharon is studying to become a SandStory Skills trainer, which she intends to offer to non-therapists/counsellors working in local authorities, schools and other agencies.
